Recently, I posted about a misunderstanding that I had with my vegetable guy. I can't afford to get into arguments with my vegetable guy. Here's why:
Fresh corn, peas, zucchini, FRESH FIGS, potatoes, a gagillion tomatoes, lettuce, potted mint, and cauliflower. All from the local farm. The eggs and the blueberries are from other local farms but sold in the farm shop.
Normally, I go to their stall at the market, but when I go to the farm itself, it's just fun. Plants that I can't grow, local fresh veggies - all grown on site. The bunnies & guinea pigs in the front are an added bonus.

I really need to go to the farmers market this weekend. On the hunt for pickling cukes.
They sometimes sell them in the supermarket here. If you have an EASY dill pickling recipe, post it! I'm all about dill - something very rare in these parts :-( Add in my inability to can = someone who overestimates a pickle.
hmmm - I'll find it and fire it off to you. You make the brine, pour it on the cukes and stick it in the oven to pop (instead of a canning thing). They are great.
Sounds amazing. I'm afraid of canning because it sounds like too much of a real science (like baking). I'll start collecting jars now! :-)
Hey Taste Traveller, My mom has a no canning recipe for pickling, Dad loves the pickles. Give the recipe to you later :)

BTW, the bunnies and guinea pigs are for pets...right?
Those vegetables are gorgeous! I can see why you want to stay on his good side. 8-)
I also wanted to let you know that I wrote a short paragraph about you in my most recent post to thank you for sharing your Friend award with me in May (yikes! that long ago?) My gratitude is quite delayed but very sincere!
All I can say is: WOW. The fresh produce looks really really good! :D
Rebecca: I'll pick that up from your mom next week. As for the bunnies: they might be for self-sufficiency. They're not for sale.
Tangled: Thanks! I stopped by - very, very kind! :-)
Murasaki: it tastes good too ;-)
